TRAVEL BY COLOUR (or color if you’re a ‘Merican’)
Eldorado may be the mythical city of gold, but if I had a city worth of gold I know exactly what I would spend it on, vino!
Enter Elciego, aka ‘The City of Wine’, which literally translates to ‘blind’ which is exactly the amount of drunk you should plan on getting while you are there.
To make things even better, this happens to be the location of Hotel Marqués de Riscal, architectural heavy-hitter Frank Gehry’s 21st-century interpretation of a chateau-hotel, or Chatotel (pronounced shat-oh-tell) if you are a fan of a good old fashioned nonsensical hybrid, like me.
Think all the usual hallmarks of swoopy-floaty elements (technical term), shiny metallic panels and the general gobsmacking genius associated with good ol’ Cap’n G.
The only difference is that this time you will be able to spend the night in his dreamy creation legally. Especially if you pay for your room.
And if that doesn’t get your juices flowing then finding yourself slap bang in the middle of Spain’s Rioja region is guaranteed to rehydrate even the most desiccated of wanderlusters.
For all you virtual tourists out there we have added a little colour courtesy of Pantone’s forecast for 2019. Forget paint by number, we are going to travel by colour.
From perfecting the ultimate blonde with those colour geniuses at Neville Hair and Beauty in London’s Belgravia to paying for your trip with your neon Monzo card to avoid any of those pesky international bank fees. We got you covered (in technicoloured doodles).
So to all you homies out there about to embark on THE X CARTEL’s lastest voyage, crack open a bottle (or box) of your favourite Rioja and hop on the only ride where it’s legal, nay encouraged to drink and drive*.
Finally, something you can navigate under the influence!

*obviously don’t drink and drive irl you crazy beasts
